Your Team Is Losing Trust, Results Are Slipping, And The Pressure Is Landing On You

How To Grow A Highly Effective Team is a three-part online leadership programme with weekly group mentoring that helps managers build trust, improve performance, and grow a highly effective leadership culture without relying on authority, pressure, or constant firefighting.
If Your Team Only Follows Because They Have To, The Problem Is Already Bigger Than Performance
When you walk into work, you can feel it... The attitude is negative. Trust is weak. People are not getting along. Your team does what they have to do, but they are not following you because they genuinely want to.

And now the pressure from above is getting heavier.
Poor relationships are damaging trust. Your team may listen to your instructions, but they do not feel connected, respected, or fully safe to speak honestly.
Low performance is becoming visible. Certain individuals are underperforming, the whole team is suffering, and your boss is expecting you to fix it.
Toxic culture is becoming harder to ignore. Negativity, frustration, and poor morale are shaping the way people behave, communicate, and show up.
Feedback sessions are going nowhere. People stay quiet, avoid honesty, or say what they think you want to hear because the trust is not there.
The pressure is landing on you. If the same problems continue, your leadership will be questioned before anything else.
And if that continues, the cost is not just another difficult week. It can become a culture that gets more toxic, a team that keeps declining, and a manager who is seen as unable to turn it around.
Stop Trying To Control The Team - Start Becoming The Leader They Actually Want To Follow
How To Grow A Highly Effective Team helps you move beyond telling people what to do and start building the relationships, trust, and influence that make stronger performance possible.

This programme helps you lead in a way that changes how your team thinks, behaves, and responds.

Inside, you will learn how to:
Build trust with your team so people feel respected, valued, and able to speak honestly.
Increase your positive influence so your team follows because they want to, not because they have to.
Create a highly effective leadership culture where people grow, take responsibility, and support stronger results.
Improve individual and team performance by helping each person become the best version of themselves.
Move from telling to empowering so your people can think, contribute, and make better decisions.
Take responsibility as the leader instead of blaming the team when things go wrong.
This is not about becoming louder, stricter, or more controlling.

It is about becoming the kind of leader who helps your team grow from distrust, low morale, and poor performance into trust, ownership, and highly effective results.

For Managers Under Pressure To Turn Their Team Around

This programme is for managers leading teams of 4 or more, especially in engineering, project management, construction, and operational environments.
This is for you if:
Your team follows because they have to, not because they trust you.
Poor relationships are creating distrust, negativity, and weak performance.
Your boss is putting pressure on you to improve the team.
Feedback sessions, 1:1s, or surveys are not creating honest conversations.
You want your team to perform at their best and take more ownership.
You are ready to put your people first and lead differently.
This is NOT for you if:
You do not believe you need leadership development.
You expect overnight results without doing the work.
You want to blame your team instead of taking responsibility.
You are not willing to build trust, empower people, or increase your influence.

The Longer You Wait, The More Toxic The Culture Becomes

Your team is already being shaped by the relationships you have built, the standards you accept, and the problems you keep carrying.
Distrust becomes harder to repair when people do not feel listened to, valued, or safe enough to speak honestly.
Poor performance affects the whole team when individuals underperform, and lower standards start to feel normal.
Top performers may start looking elsewhere when they do not see leadership, growth, or a better culture being built.
Morale keeps dropping when the workplace feels negative, stressful, and emotionally draining.
Your position may come under pressure when your boss sees the team’s performance falling and expects visible improvement.
The sooner you change how you lead, the sooner your team can change how they respond.

The Leadership Myths Keeping Your Team Stuck
You do not need more leadership theory that sounds good but changes nothing.
You need practical principles you can apply with the team you are already leading.
Myth #1: “Leadership is about telling people what to do.”
Truth:
Highly effective leadership is about building trust, increasing influence, and helping people become the best version of themselves.
Myth #2: “I have to make every decision.”
Truth:
Strong leaders do not keep all the power for themselves. They empower their people to think, contribute, and make better decisions.
Myth #3: “If I talk the talk, I do not have to walk the walk.”
Truth:
Your team will believe what you model more than what you say. Leadership requires character, consistency, and personal responsibility.
Myth #4: “When things go wrong, I can blame the team.”
Truth:
If you lead the team, you must take responsibility for the team. Blame weakens trust and keeps the real problem in place.
Myth #5: “Once I have the manager title, I have made it.”
Truth:
A title may give you authority, but it does not automatically give you trust, influence, or a team that wants to follow you.
This programme helps you lead from where you are now - with more trust, more influence, and a practical way to build the team in front of you.
Meet Tom Lawrence - The Leadership Mentor Helping Managers Build Stronger Teams
I created How To Grow A Highly Effective Team because I know how challenging it can be to lead people, build trust, and get results when your team is not yet working at its full potential.

I have worked in the
engineering industry since 1999 and started my first leadership position in 2009 as a Project Manager. Since then, I have led teams in Liverpool, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and London.

In 2018, I left my role as Engineering Technical Manager for a London train operator after the job nearly gave me a nervous breakdown. With the help of my boss, I took gardening leave, worked on myself, and discovered exactly who I was, who I wanted to become, and how I wanted to help others.

That experience is one of the reasons I do this work now.
I want to help managers become
highly effective leaders before their role breaks them - so they can grow themselves, grow their people, and create environments where others can learn to lead too.

Your Next Step Starts Here
You do not need more feedback sessions that go nowhere or 1:1s where no one says what they really think.

You need a clearer way to rebuild trust, raise performance, and create a culture people want to follow.
OPTION 1: Book Your Team Growth Call.
Take the first step toward building stronger relationships, better trust, higher performance, and a team your boss can see is improving.
OPTION 2: Keep Managing The Same Problems.
Stay stuck with the same distrust, the same pressure, the same poor performance, and the same risk that the team’s decline will eventually be blamed on you.
The team you want will not appear by accident. You have to grow it.
